Upgrading the campsite at Skimminghøj

The current service building with restrooms and showers at Skimminghøj will be replaced by a new multifunctional building. It will include, among other things, a small kitchenette, a storage room, new shower rooms and restrooms, and a basic outdoor kitchen. The building will also serve as winter storage for the museum ship Gammel Turisten—hence the name “Bådhallen.”

During the summer months, the boathouse will serve as a picnic shelter, a hammock hotel, and a lounge area for sailors, hikers, and cyclists. The boathouse can also be used for local cultural activities, as long as they do not interfere with the main activity at the campground—which is basic overnight accommodations for those who canoe, hike, or bike.
