The current service building with toilets and showers at Skimminghøj will be replaced by a new multifunctional building. Among other things, there will be a small kitchenette, a depot, new showers and toilets, and a primitive outdoor kitchen. The building will also serve as winter storage for the museum ship Gammel Turisten – hence the name “Bådhallen”. During the summer, the boathouse will serve as a packed lunch house, hammock hotel and recreation room for sailors, hikers and cyclists. The boat hall can also be used for local cultural activities, as long as it does not interfere with the main activity at the campsite – which is primitive accommodation for canoeists, hikers and cyclists.
