More information

If you as a journalist/media want to cover the project and the inauguration, you are welcome to contact Gunhild Øeby Nielsen at email gunn@favrskov.dk or mobile at 20365077 for further information and pictures.

All 11 project partners are busy planning the inaugurations and are looking forward to inaugurating the iconic path along Denmark’s longest river – Gudenåen. The A.P. Møller Foundation and Nordea Foundation have supported the project with 15 million each. Read more about the project here.

The Gudenå Trail will be 175 kilometers – from source to fjord, uniformly signposted and with support facilities. It will consist of footpaths, gravel paths, boardwalks and a few stretches of asphalt road.

Most of the route runs very close to the Gudenåen in a unique, dynamic landscape. The trail will therefore be wet and flooded from time to time. You will always be able to find alternative routes when a section is flooded – see more here.

In the coming months, we will, among other things, provide information on this page about where the trail is accessible for people with walking difficulties, where you can cycle, suggestions for tours, special nature and cultural experiences, etc. So far, we have created this overview of the stages of the Gudenå Trail.
